History of MONGRENIER
Scenic landscape with rolling hills, green trees, and a few buildings under a clear blue sky.

Nestled in the countryside of the Aude department of the Occitanie region, just a few kilometres from the village of Villarzel-du-Razès, Mongrenier belongs to a landscape shaped by centuries of rural life. This land has long been marked by agriculture, seasonal rhythms, and a close relationship between people and the soil.

Like many places in the area, Mongrenier is part of a territory whose history reaches back to medieval times, when land, villages, and farming estates formed an interconnected network around local communities. Over generations, this landscape has been cultivated, cared for, and transformed, carrying forward a quiet continuity of stewardship.

Today, the Collectif de Mongrenier builds on this living heritage — not as a monument to the past, but as a place where history, ecology, and collective life continue to evolve.

Care for the Land

We actively protect and care for 70 hectares of certified organic fields and oak forests, preserving the land as a shared responsibility for present and future generations.
